Have you begun to despair that your ability to bug people is waning? Is there a special someone that you long to irritate secretly?

Bless the miracle of mechanization because the good folks at ThinkGeek are now selling the answer to all your prayers.

It is called the Annoy-a-tron. A small, thin device, it adheres to almost any surface and it emits a beeping sound randomly in two to eight minute intervals. The joy of driving someone you dislike around the bend comes from watching them trying to find the dang thing and becoming ever more exasperated and frantic at trying to track down that F***I*G beep. The Annoy-a-tron can run on a single battery for three to four weeks.

There are three steps to follow when using the Annoy-a-tron, and I quote from the ThinkGeek site:

  • Turn on.
  • Hide it.
  • Muahahaha…

What has this got to do with being a café commuter, I hear you ask? Well, nothing really. But I was thinking that it might be a good way to confuse and mentally torment any truly irritating café commuter buddy like the guy on the cell phone that talks too loudly and too long. However, since you are in the same café as he or she is, it might drive you crazy in the process. Could you maybe sneak it their messenger bag?

Q: What neat gadgets have you come across?

Thanks for stopping by and I’ll save your seat until next time!
